Bird Watching

Bird watching at Matetsi 6 is both peaceful and exciting. The area is home to a wide variety of bird species, as well as larger mammals you may spot along the way.

Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Rates are per person.

We offer two options for bird watching: Self-Guided and Guided experiences.

Self-Drive Bird Watching (with a National Parks Ranger)

Available: Daily from 6:00 to 19:00
Includes: Entry to the area and access to our bird watching locations, including a mandatory National Parks ranger who accompanies you throughout the journey.

Birding spots:

A bird hide at Waterhole #?
Shaded viewing points at four other waterholes
Access to marked roads across the property

Extras: A map will be provided upon arrival
Note: No vehicle or equipment is included

Guided Bird Watching Experience

Departure: 14:00 from the Matetsi Reception
Check-in: Please arrive by 13:30
Return: Around 18:00

A knowledgeable guide who will drive you in a safari vehicle
Snacks and drinks
Insights into bird behaviour, calls, and habitats
Help spotting and identifying birds
